Yuthog Nyingtig Ladrup Program

Central Council of Tibetan Medicine with the collaboration of Palpung University of Buddhist Science (PUBS) has organized a 100 days Yuthog Nyingtig Ladrup program for the Sowa-Rigpa practitioners at PUBS, Sherabling monastic seat, Himachal Pradesh, India.

On 6th April 2022, HH The 12th Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa bestowed the empowerments, reading transmissions, and instructions of “Dispelling the Darkness of Suffering” Guru Sadhana, which spontaneously emerged from the expanse of realization of the great siddha and physician Yuthok Yonten Gonpo, who was known as the father of Sowa-Rigpa; Tibetan Medicine.

Guru Vajradhara conferred the extensive root empowerment along with the command entrustment, as well as the concise essential empowerment, the auspicious longevity empowerment, the torma empowerment of Vajrakilaya, and the entrustment and authorization for the Medicine Buddha empowerment ritual followed by practical instructions on the gradual path of creation and completion related to the stages of preliminary practices for the outer, inner, and secret sadhanas, elements of meditations and recitations for their actual practices, and the subsequent applications of activities, along with reading transmissions of the entire sadhana framework and all related liturgies.

Besides, Guru Vajradhara kindly offered extensive guidance and advice on the significance of doing all we can to preserve and spread the transmission of the ten Buddhist sciences, which include the Tibetan language, and especially Tibetan medicine. He also pointed out that mere study and practical application of medical treatment are not sufficient, because they must be supported with empowerments, reading transmissions, instructions, and meditations on the teaching cycles related to the science of healing.

After receiving the empowerments, reading transmissions, and instructions of the Yuthok Nyingthik Guru Yoga, a group of 11 physicians who are registered practitioner under the Central Council of Tibetan Medicine conducted two days of profound and efficient rituals to remove obstacles. Following that, on April 15, 2022, the actual practice of one-hundred-day retreat on the outer, inner, and secret practices of Yuthok Yonten Gonpo guru yoga  has begun at the monastic seat’s Shangpa Retreat Center. The 100 days retreat / practice will conclude in the first week of August 2022 following the final ritual ceremonies.
