With great pride, Central Council of Tibetan Medicine is celebrating its first ever Sowa-Rigpa Day on September 11, 2019. In the history of Tibetan Medicine, September 11, 1961 was the day when His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama called upon the scholars of Tibetan Medicine and Astrology who had followed him to exile, to Dharamsala to revive the rich tradition of Tibetan Medicine and Astrology. Since then, Men-Tsee-Khang, (Tibetan Medical & Astro. Institute) and Chagpori Tibetan Medical Institute were re-established in India and further developed this medical tradition in exile. Thus, to mark that historic day and to commemorate the great vision His Holiness the Dalai Lama saw and actualized it with the generous support from the Govt. of India and its people, Members of CCTM are celebrating this first ever day in exile.
We invite all the Sowa-Rigpa; Tibetan Medical Practitioners, Friends of Tibetan Medicine, our loving patients and all the interested people to come and join this auspicious event.
